X FLASHER programming kit

Magicmotorsport has a new product available for all BMW F series. The X FLASHER is a standalone reprogramming kit for BMW Fxx models.

It works totally offline and doesn’t need any driver or software to be installed. Works on any Windows OS from Windows XP to Windows 8. It is available in italian, english, polish, russian and german languages.

The X Flasher allows reading/writing/checksum correction of IROM and EEPROM through BOOTLOADER connection or OBD (with Wizard adapter installed on ECU). Manuals, cables and free support and updates for a year are included in kit. Price for the X FLASHER is 1200€ and after the first year subscription fee costs 150€ + VAT.

The kit also includes Universal cable for TC Bootloader, Universal cable for TC Bootloader and Connection cable: USB 2.0 AM-BM BLK 1.8 m.

TDI-TUNING: more powet to UK TUNING BOX desegn, development and exports

Essex-based TDI-Tuning closes 2014 with a 37% growth year-on-year and more demand than ever for its long-established diesel tuning boxes and other services.

The company’s plans for 2015 include further product development for diesel road cars, and a continued focus as a brand name for design and manufacturing of tuning boxes specific to agricultural vehicles and motorhomes.

The company’s growth is made more poignant by the deployment of its four-man technical team: led by ex-Ford Technical Director Steve Legon, the division is one of the largest for a UK-based tuning box company, giving a very strong product line-up and very quick response to any development opportunities.

Unlike the common hard-core strand of diesel tuners who search for ‘headline grabbing’ bhp figures, squeezing everything possible out of the engines, even to the detriment of longevity, reliability and consumption, TDI-Tuning’s products maximise performance (power and torque) and drivability without compromising the engine, whilst at the same time reducing consumption by up to 20%.

TDI-Tuning boxes do not require the engine’s ECU to be re-mapped: they are plug-in devices with no need for technical knowledge or special tools by the consumer, are easy to fit, are removed with no trace of their presence, and the vehicle does not have to spend hours in a garage.

TDI-Tuning’s modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology make the company one of the very few UK businesses to preside over the entire process: from product design and development to manufacturing (which takes place in Germany, to exacting standards) and final assembly, fitting and testing back in the UK. “We are one of only a few companies offering twin channel tuning boxes, and the only one to use an independent review service to rate our products,” says principal Graeme King.

ZipTuning shared some insights on the new Audi S3 with Siemens SIMOS12 ECU. The software contains perfect ignitiontiming for maximum power, little ignition adaptation accepted, lambda, good turbo request and actual, egt, enginetemp, reliable for engine.

With the original file the Audi S3 measured 313hp and 398nm. The Stage 1 tuningfile revealed 360hp and 463nm. The tool used was a CMD Flashtec. The software is available to resellers. Limited and Super mappack including tuningfile available for resellers.

    Unitronic is pleased to announce the official worldwide release of its Performance Software for the 3rd generation of Volkswagen’s 210- and 220-horsepower 2.0 TSI® (EA888) engine.

    Unitronic has precisely re-calibrated the SIMOS 18.1 engine control unit (ECU) to deliver maximum performance while ensuring complete OEM-like reliability and driveability from Volkswagen’s latest generation of the turbocharged four cylinder 2.0-liter TSI engine found in the MQB chassis. Unitronic’s Performance Software is programmable directly through the OBD-2 port and within minutes you’ll be enjoying a total night-and-day driving experience.

    Unitronic’s Stage 1 and Stage 1+ Performance Software are both designed for otherwise complete stock vehicles, requiring no supporting hardware modifications and provides a great entry-level upgrade. Stage 1 is optimized for 91 OCT/95 RON fuel, producing 297 HP/346 lb-ft TQ.

    For Clients with access to 93 OCT/98 RON fuel, Stage 1+ takes advantage of higher grade fuel, producing an increase in output to 310 HP/347 lb-ft TQ; a remarkable +76 HP and +85 lb-ft TQ over Unitronic’s recorded stock figures.

    Taking it to the next level, Unitronic sets itself apart from the competition with its Stage 2 Performance Software, requiring a 3” downpipe, which alleviates exhaust restrictions created by the stock catalytic converter allowing for optimal dissipation of exhaust backpressure and maximum flow. Unitronic’s Stage 2 Performance Software boasts an increase of 103 HP and 108 lb-ft of TQ over the stock power as recorded by Unitronic, with an output of 337 HP and 370 lb-ft of TQ.

    Through Unitronic’s extensive track testing, it quickly became apparent that getting traction would prove challenging in early stages of beta testing software calibrations. For Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) platforms with an engine that produces a considerable amount of torque peaking at 2750 RPM, Unitronic implemented advanced torque management by gear, designed to limit wheel spin to ensure maximum forward acceleration is achieved. Unitronic’s advanced torque management aids in optimal 0-60 mph, ¼ mile, and other various acceleration scenarios when traction is important. Unitronic’s MK7 GTI accomplished a 12.867 E.T. @ 112 mph in the ¼ mile, equipped with Unitronic Stage 2 Performance Software, Unitronic 3” Turbo-Back Exhaust System and Unitronic Carbon Fiber Intake System, using 17” Enkei RPF1 wheels and Hoosier 245/45/17 D.O.T. Drag Radials. Unitronic’s 8V Audi A3 2.0 TSI accomplished a 12.479 E.T. @ 112 mph in the ¼ mile, equipped with Unitronic Stage 2 Performance Software, Unitronic 3” Turbo-Back Exhaust System and Unitronic Carbon Fiber Intake System, using 19” BBS CH-R wheels and Michelin Pilot Super Sport 235/35/19 Street tires.

    Some people might question the need to go any further than stage1 on this 2.0TSI engine with the huge improvements in power, torque and drivability we can see why for some people stage1 is more than enough. We are always interested in seeing just how far you can take new engines though; And with the widely anticipated release of the Stage 1 software, it was only a matter of time before the next installment was released.

    Welcome Stage 2 Performance software

    Stage2 software is the next level and allows you to use a full turbo back performance exhaust along with other hardware modifications without having any detrimental effects. Our calibration and development team have invested a huge amount of time into assessing the factory restrictions and limitations from this engine. Our tuning philosophy is in place to ensure all our software achieves maximum performance gains whilst improving driveability and midrange punch. Performance isn’t always achieved by aiming for the biggest peak figures, and certainly not by pushing things too far.

    Combining the additional airflow gained from our uprated intake system with a derestricted turbo back exhaust system and more efficient cooling from an uprated front mounted intercooler allowed our calibration team to maximise the increased efficiency from these components and tie them together to give fantastic real world gains. Stage 2 is a big step up from Stage 1; with 23bhp increase (ATW) at peak power and at points through the rev-range seeing +45bhp and +64Nm (ATW). The power and torque curves show the gains throughout the rev-range:

    NEW! OBD2 Flashing for Android

    OE Tuning released a new type OBD2 flashing system for Android devices. The way is works is really easy. Once you purchase the DPF, “DroidPersonalFlasher”, connect the USB end of your charge cable to the device and connect to your vehicle’s OBD2 port. Maps are then uploaded and downloaded via the Cloud.

    DroidPersonalFlasher is a VIN based OBD2 flasher able to read/write ECU internal firmware. Once the interface reads the car, the read file will be instantly available on tuner web-based backend. A maximum of 4 modified files can be stored on the cloud and the user can flash the original read file from the car or any modified tune as many times as needed.

    The well cornering AMG GT does not only scare his rivals in young boys’ dreams, as it does in the latest TV commercial. “Now our PEC tuning module will make the AMG GT and GT S even faster,“ says Udo Heinzelmann, performmaster’s managing director: “And with a unique guarantee to boot!” You will also find all the details on this product at www.performmaster.com.

    While the AMG GT and GT S production versions show 462 hp / 340 kW / 600 Nm and 510 hp / 375 kW / 650 Nm respectively, performmaster provides either with 612 hp / 450 kW / 780 Nm. The PEC tuning module, presented in 2015, has been specially designed for AMG models and provides up to 32% extra power and a higher V-max: 330 kph, to be precise. (The production GT only reaches 304 kph, the GT S 310 kph.)

    But what is most impressive here is the acceleration. Instead of 4 (GT) or 3.8 (GT S) seconds, with the PEC tuning module the car will go from 0-100 kph in 3.6 seconds. The difference is even more striking when going 0-200 kph. Even the GT S is 1.3 seconds faster now, only needing 10.2 seconds. And if for all that you think the AMG GT is not spacious enough, performmaster will shortly provide an uprating to more than 600 hp for the new C63, too.     The PEC tuning module
    “We approached the PEC tuning module project with our 27 years of experience, state-of-the-art computer processes and a high-performance test bench,” says Udo Heinzelmann. A standardised assembly makes a defective installation almost impossible. No cable has to be cut; there are only three lines with OEM plugs. The car can be downgraded at any time, with performmaster providing a complete documentation, of course. And the technical components reports will relieve customers of too much red tape as well.

G 63, GL 63 and ML 63 AMG see an upgrade from 557 hp / 410 kW / 720 Nm to 645 hp / 474 kW / 850 Nm. CLS 63, E 63 and S 63 AMG will even reach 702 hp / 516 kW / 1000 Nm. All this also applies to 4Matic variants, S models and cars with a factory performance package.

    G-POWER M3/M4: 560 hp and 720 Nm

    The star billing in BMW’s current M portfolio, the F8X series M3/M4 now receives a performance upgrade from G-POWER centred on their in-house developed Bi-Tronik 2 V2. Boosting output to 560 hp / 412 kW with 720 Nm of torque, this conversion catapults the Bavarian super saloon/coupe to 100km/h from a standing start in just 3.8 seconds.

    In line with G-POWER’s seven high-speed world records, a customer can also request the remap to include removal of the factory Vmax limitation, raising top speed to a theoretical 330km/h. In reality, the car will achieve around 310km/h.

    Unlike generic remaps, the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 2 V2 ECU remap is customised for the original control unit in a customer’s vehicle, thus achieving optimum all-round performance enhancement. In industry terms, while this is the best way to implement such an upgrade, it is also the hardest as it means having to crack the factory 128-bit encryption first. However, thanks to over 30 years of engine development experience, the G-POWER engineers were able to overcome this electronic firewall and implement their remap.

    Extensive test runs on the dyno and real world testing on the autobahns and country roads proved the dramatically enhanced performance and perfect drivability of the Bi-Tronik 2 V2 conversion. Of equal importance for engine reliability and longevity, the factory diagnostic and engine protection systems remain in place.

    Complementary to the Bi-Tronik 2 V2 package installed G-POWER downpipes significantly reduce the exhaust back pressure. Moreover G-POWER equipped the M3 with an in-house titanium exhaust system with four 90-millimeter tailpipes, optionally available in titanium or carbon fibre finish. Saving 7.1 kg over standard, this sports exhaust features a sound flap in the rear silencer with remote control regulation.

    Reduced unsprung mass equates to improved handling, both of which G-POWER achieves with its 21-inch HURRICANE RR forged alloy wheels shod with 245/30ZR21 and 295/25ZR21 Michelin tyres.

    Made from ultra-light aircraft-grade aluminium these wheels are normally available in Jet Black, Gun Metal Grey and Stardust Silver, but can also be painted in a special colour at extra cost upon customer request.

    I/O Terminal Tool

    Chiptuningshop announced that the I/O Terminal Tool is now available. The I/O Terminal tool can offer functions that normally would normally require the ECU to be opened and a BDM programmer connected, however it can accomplish these procedures without opening the ECU and in some cases all from OBD!

    It also supports some very tricky controllers which are not covered by other tools. Using this tool you gain full control of the ECU’s memories. You can read/write eeprom and internal/external flash memories (where available). It also allows reading of pin codes and can return the ECU to a virgin state, so it can be adapted to another car! Read/modify service history data which contains date, mileage and diagnostic device ID. All operations are done over K-line or CAN bus without need to open ECU!

    Toyota ECU tuning is now available!

    At the end of an hard work of research&development, Dimsport can proudly communicate to professionals around the world a long-awaited news: Toyota ECU tuning is now available!

    Until today, Dimsport could only provide Rapid add-on modules for Toyota; now it is possible to tune and improve the performance of many applications under the Japanese brand, namely those supported from NEC76F00XX processors, through New Genius OBDII and New Trasdata (NBD communication).

    New Genius protocol does not support reading operations but allows the identification (ID) of the original file stored into the ECU. In order to tune these vehicles you need to download the corresponding Certified Original File from our database; if the Certified Original File is not available, you need to read the complete ECU content (DIM file) with NEW TRASDATA and send it to the technical support.

    At this stage, Denso Toyota ECUs provided with NEC76F00XX CPUs can be read, programmed and cloned through F34NTF53 flat cable (included in NEW TRASDATA kit). In the second half of November, new specific adapters for the metal positioning frame and new soldering strips will be released.

    For the first time, DTE Systems optimises the new Audi RS3 (8VA) based on the new SENT sensor technology. In the past, cars with SENT sensors could not be tuned with engine optimisation systems. Today, DTE Systems is writing history, paving the way for SENT tuning with its new PowerControl SNT system. You can rely on perfect optimization for the specific engine, in highest OEM quality and with proven extra performance, certified with TÜV part approval.

    With the full potential of the Audi RS3, DTE improves the efficiency of the engine significantly and makes for a unique driving experience. At the end of the dyno development the result surpassed our expectations: 410 hp and 557 Nm.

    This is a power increase of +43 hp and +92 Nm over the RS3’s stock performance (367 hp/465 Nm). And that with 1.1 seconds faster acceleration from 62 to 99 mph. “With these results we have achieved an important development milestone”, concludes Michael Krecek, Managing Director of DTE Systems GmbH. As usual, this engine optimisation has been independently tested for extra performance, certified by a TÜV part approval. Whereas the stock RS3 prior to DTE tuning had let the Mercedes A45 AMG with 381 hp and 475 Nm pass by, the optimised RS3 by DTE with the new PowerControl SNT will outpace its competitor.

    A perfect fit in the engine bay, DTE’s PowerControl SNT is connected to the central sensors of the engine management system: Turbo pressure and intake manifold sensors and the camshaft sensor. In real-time, incoming signals are processed, optimised and transmitted to the car’s ECU. What is a clear highlight of PowerControl SNT: DTE’s system gathers and optimises digital SENT signals and in parallel key analogue signals of the engine management system. The tuning is perfectly adjusted to the vehicle’s engine with DTE’s proven Multi Map Technology, load-balanced tuning via RPM using our Adaptive Sensor System and motor and ECU safety functions remain with Engine Protect+. This newly developed Multi-Protocol Technology in PowerControl SNT unifies analogue and digital engine control technologies and is a clear milestone in chiptuning and a world’s first.

    Dimsport’s big deal with Toyota ECU tuning continues! Last month they spread the word to professionals with the first batch of applications: now they have improved the list of microprocessors supported, allowing the upgrade of the models involved.

    In addition to Rapid add-on modules for Toyota, now it is possible to tune and improve the performance of more and more applications under the Japanese brand, namely those supported from NEC76F00XX processors, through New Genius OBDII and New Trasdata (NBD communication).

    It should be remembered that New Genius protocol does not support reading operations but allows the identification (ID) of the original file stored into the ECU. In order to tune these vehicles you need to download the corresponding Certified Original File from our database; if the Certified Original File is not available, you need to read the complete ECU content (DIM file) with NEW TRASDATA and send it to the technical support.

    At this stage, Denso Toyota ECUs provided with NEC76F00XX CPUs can be read, programmed and cloned through F34NTF53 flat cable (included in NEW TRASDATA kit). Shortly new specific adapters for the metal positioning frame and new soldering strips will be released.

    Dyno Tuning Laptop Mount

    Throttle Works is an automotive performance shop in Boise, Idaho. They build race cars and street cars that they tune on their AWD Mustang Dyno. Now they have a new tool!

    They come up with a tool for any serious tuner that spends hours bent over the center console during the tuning process.

    Their Dyno Tuning Laptop Mount attaches to the passenger window with a heavy duty (110 pounds) suction cup bracket. It offers six pivot points which makes it a perfect fit for any vehicle. During testing they successfully installed and tuned with the on everything from a Ford Raptor Pickup (wide, tall cabin) to a 5th Gen Camaro with its low ceiling height. Some cars may have side windows with too much curve to allow a good suction surface to attach to. So far the Mitsubishi 3000GT is the only car they have come across with this issue.

    EcuTek Launches Impressive New GT-R RaceROM Phase 5 Software

    EcuTek’s range of software of the Nissan GT-R has expanded to include the latest RaceROM Phase 5, a highly sophisticated platform for the GT-R that cements the firm’s position as de facto leaders in the world of stock ECU tuning. The GT-R RaceROM Phase 5 promises to unleash a raft of new possibilities for owners of Nissan’s massively popular GT-R, with a truly amazing spread of inbuilt features and programme functions, including improved Custom Maps, advanced injector support, a brand new boost control function, FlexFuel strategy and more, and all achieved through clever use of the OEM ECU.

    Improving upon the factory performance parameters of the GT-R without forcing owners to go down the standalone management route has long been an EcuTek speciality, but the firm’s new Phase 5 software really does beg the question as to why anyone would bother with any other ECU system. New and improved for 2015, Phase 5 is intended for those owners intent on pushing their cars to the very limit, hence why it’s been programmed to be so flexible. Key to this flexibility is EcuTek’s Custom Maps feature, which allows for unparalleled control over tuning strategies, boost control and fuel management, outputs for external hardware such as NOS, sophisticated traction and launch control, pin-point accurate measurement of everything from intake temperatures to wheels spin, and much, much more.

    Injector spec is an often somewhat overlooked aspect of performance tuning, a massive oversight as precise fuel input and measurement is crucial to the success and longevity of any performance engine. EcuTek designed their latest GT-R software to support twelve individual injectors, a development that would traditionally have involved switching to a standalone system to achieve, or swapping for huge injectors that by their very nature promote inconsistent running at lower revs. GT-R RaceROM Phase 5 can facilitate the use of a twelve injector setup providing a suitable inlet manifold, wiring hardness and secondary injector driver module are in place, with the secondary bank of injectors pressed into service via a repurposed air solenoid and set to fire at low to medium engine loads. These innovations mean that a factory-fitted ECU can now offer all the benefits of an aftermarket one with none of the drawbacks, ideal for those keen to tune their cars but also retain everyday drivability.

    EcuTek has completely re-written its much vaunted boost control strategy for GT-R RaceROM Phase 5, with the newly created software now able to offer a range of benefits and features, and all without compromising usability or the need to rely on custom maps. The re-written strategies open up a number of possibilities, including closed loop boost control for more useable, tractable boost lower down the rev range and a flatter boost curve. EcuTek designed it to be simple to use and easy to understand, it will work with any turbo setup and features a number of checks and balances to ensure reliability is maintained, with the boost target lowering temperature limit being a case in point. EcuTek’s RaceRom Boost Control feature is another standout aspect of this package, one which allows drivers to toggle boost settings at any time via the cruise control button, and a development that promises to be very popular amongst the GT-R tuning community. Boost target is also gear dependent, a feature which allows tuners to set peak boost figures that take the limits of the drivetrain and available traction into consideration, both important considerations for those seeking the ultimate in GT-R performance.

    EcuTek is only too aware of the need to run Ethanol in many competition and fast road applications, hence why Phase 5 has been developed to accommodate this highly combustible and volatile fuel, one that’s traditionally required specialised mapping to run with any degree of reliability. FlexFuel calibration now comes hard coded into the Phase 5 software meaning that, with the simple addition of an Ethanol content sensor, effective Ethanol fuel maps can be designed and run with relative ease. 3D and 2D blend maps deliver accurate fuel, ignition and boost data, essential for determining when best to utilise Ethanol and in what quantity, and again, all via the stock ECU.

    Phase 5’s slew of additional mapping parameters mean that it can be adapted to suit a staggering variety of applications, with enhanced traction and launch control being among the most hotly anticipated. Users are now able to use Custom Maps to accurately measure and toggle the slip target for a preset gear position, slip target adjustment via cruise control, how aggressive the traction control actually is in relation to revs, throttle, torque split, accelerator and steering position, and many others. It all combines to give users total control over how their individual setup performs and how their car handles power, traction and other forces associated with extensively tuned platforms.

    The RaceROM Phase 5 software is the latest in a line of innovative mapping solutions from EcuTek and incorporates all the elements that made preceding setups so successful, plus many additional functions that make it an invaluable tool for tuners looking to bolster their GT-R tuning options. Offering a sensible 100 bhp over the car’s standard output, this simple and cost-effective conversion transforms the rapid load-lugger into a truly rapid mile-muncher – with some 650 bhp.

    Litchfield’s extensively-tested Stage 1 upgrade improves the already excellent standard RS6 by remapping and calibrating the engine management system. This recalibration will releases extra horsepower and torque, transforming the way the RS6 performs without pushing the limits of the standard components.
